chaplain should have a biblebot that shouts random quasi-religious phrases/quotes things with an "amen" at the end. farting on this is still discouraged
emagged, it rushes towards people who fart in order to fit under them and trick them into biblegibbing

A program that works like a SQL style language where you can connect to the medical (and perhaps genetics, if possible), security, and ID computer databases and read and make changes from them, but only with admin access. In addition someone could do stuff like automate narrowing down details like partially obscured fingerprints using wildcards, find out everyone who has an arrrest record, get every person with a rare blood type etc. As a trade-off it's also rate limited, so a nerd can't just spam the server with select inquiries.

It would obviously be done from a terminal and be hard to use because only nerds would want to tinker with it.

This is probably a huge waste of server resources, but given a smart AI or captain it could be a fun way to make automation better.

only if we could nerd out with sql injection based hacking

If you take a can of pringles, poke a hole in the bottom and the top, and fill the can with hydrogen, then light it with a match, the can will fly into the air and the chips will be unharmed.

Why can't clowns do this in SS13?

Cookie Tin + Screwdriver = Ireen Minceeny pokes some holes in the top and the bottom of the tin.
Beaker of Hydrogen + Cookie Tin = Ireen Minceeny adds hydrogen to the cookie tin.
Lit match + Cookie Tin = Ireen Minceeny lights the cookie tin! Run!

And then it makes a gunshot noise, the tin flies away, and there is a stack of unharmed chips on the ground.

And, obviously, normies can't think of anything to do with a screwdriver and cookie tin.

what if every ghost glows, just a bit.
just enough to be perceptible in maint ( and pretty obvious in a blackout ) but not visible in a stock lit room.
I feel like spirit divination could always use more spooky "oooh why are there so many ghosts congregated near this wall?" and less "Someone is frantically spinning this medbay chair".

also in general, moving spots of light at the end of a corridor are ghostly af.

I posted this on the Discord, figured I'd throw it in here for safe keeping.

Let clowns attach inflated balloons to their clown mask to use as a breathing tank. ONLY BALLOONS! and they last a very short time, say 5-10 seconds. But just enough to make it through a breached area.

Some kind of borg upgrade that ejects the brain into a shitty escape pod on death. Has no tools and like a minute of charge, falls apart with a wet sneeze, but keeps your dumb brain alive.

the solar panels should be removed and the engine SMESs should start with less power

only on TEG maps

:>

Honestly, I'd love for lower power levels to be more common and power diversion to be a bigger thing.

Like, solars ought to get enough juice to be only able to run every other light around the station and nothing else, so you get a spookier darker station but with some lights so you're not stumbling your way around.

BUT, either the engineers or the AI could divert power from areas to fully power lights and/or equipment to other areas.

So if you're locked in medbay, AI could flip of the lights and get the doors going.

I guess this is stuff you can already do with APCs, but a more streamlined master control that allows you to do this from a central location would be helpful and neat

Likewise, hot-wiring the engine and hellburns shouldn't be as efficient as they are.

How will we know the rounds ending if everything is still brightly lit and running 2 hours in?

Too much power running through a cable ought to start frying them out without sufficient grounding

Faraday stun baton: A stun baton that only charges when you shake it enough or alternatively beat people with it. Both use up stamina.
