Antique Taser
Price: 6-7
An old style taser, from back when they fired little wire-darts instead of bolts of energy. Also, because this is the Syndicate and the word non-lethal is typically followed by uproarious laughter in board meetings, it has a ridiculously strong power supply and no safety features whatsoever.

A gun, basically. Has infinite ammo but works in a strange way. Only works within a few squares but doesn't really(in game terms) fire a projectile so it can't miss. Click on someone within range and it connects to them, stunning them and knocking them down. As long as the taser stays within range of the target, then the target stays stunned. Upon moving out of range or manually retracting the wires, the target is released and can then start recovering from the stun normally. Additionally, due to modifications made to it, holding the target starts doing nasty things over time as the power ramps up. After holding the target for 10 seconds, they're knocked unconscious. At around 30 they catch fire, at around 60 their heart fails, and at 120 they burn to ash. Most people aren't going to hang around shocking someone for 2 minutes, but they don't have to. With no safety locks, they're free to shoot their target and drop the taser next to them, then come back and pick it up later from the pile of ashes that used to be their enemy.

Pros: It's lethal, infinitely reusable, and can be used to either kill 1 person or permanently stun a small group.

Cons: It's expensive, takes a long time to actually kill someone, and will lose against real guns because it lacks range.

atomic1fire Wrote:Maybe Delimbinator is a dumb idea, but I want to be able to use a plunger as a leg.

Can someone make this goal a reality.

Maybe a pirate themed traitor item would be fun.

A pirate chest full of themed traitor gear (like a set of 3 uniforms you can throw on people to force them into your crew? some crappy pirate swords, and some one shot guns) Get your own not pirate ammo from someplace else.

I mean it would probably be the dumbest gimmick item compared to the bowler suit or the wrestler belt, but I mostly want a peg leg and if not a dumb botany item that can give me a peg leg, maybe a 10 telecrystal pirate chest. (Because if you are going to dress as a pirate and rob the crew, might as well do it without any extra help)
I like this idea if you can dress two people as pirates and they have to follow your orders through the rest of the round also make everyone involved talk as a pirate.

Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - atomic1fire - 12-31-2013

I was thinking something like a uniform mindslave.

Pirate costume goes on.

A. The crewmember can't take it off

B. They have to follow the orders of the person in the captain pirate suit, no matter what.

Also probably an instant pirate accent.

Yes becomes Yarr, etc

Also perhaps the more credits the pirates amass, the more pirate gear they can get, like a full cannon that can be stuffed with cannon balls (Or a basket ball or bowling ball maybe?), etc. I initially just wanted a plunger peg leg, but the pirate crate/chest was just a fun thing to make that work as a traitor item.

Well, I mean when you count this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2349&view=unread#unread

And this one: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2175

You're basically 2/3 of the way there already! Hell, synth up some grog and buy some mindslave implants, you can basically do this already!

Time Cannon
Price: A lot
It's a cannon. It shoots time. 50 years worth, specifically. Has a battery, recharges automatically over time like the radbow, holds a good number of shots.

Anything hit by the time cannon is aged 50 years. Walls turn into rusty walls which can be smashed with blunt objects. Doors rust shut. Windows and tables crack and splinter. Computers and lights burn out. Cameras break, floor panels split, various objects lying around break and turn into scrap.

Borgs are pretty sturdy, so shooting one of them just runs down their power supply instantly and makes one or two limbs fall off. Humans are aged 50 years. If they're still under 90 nothing really happens. Being over 90 induces a number of painful old person ailments, slowing them to a walking speed and giving them poor eyesight. Once they reach 150 they go either deaf or blind, and being over 200 carries a constant risk of heart failure. It does not stun or do any actual damage on hit.

Basically it has a lot of utility in fucking things up and is especially good against borgs. Shooting a human once is just annoying. Emptying it into someone is pretty nasty for them though.

Sticky Fingers
price:3-4 crystals

A pair of gloves that allow you to pickpocket people. Can change appearance on the fly like a chameleon jumpsuit,so people don't start emptying out their pockets whenever a quartermaster passes by. Also work as insulated gloves

While wearing the gloves, using the grab intent on someone instead pickpockets them (pocket stolen from depends on your active hand) and silently stores the thing you stole in your backpack. Target gets no notification at all. Instead of the stolen item being outright removed from their pocket,it's replaced by a dummy item that has the same name and appearance. However, clicking on it or having 30 seconds elapse makes it disappear and gives you a red message alerting you about it possibly being stolen.

Drawbacks:
You have to take off your gloves to throw/strangle/whatever people
If you lose an arm you can't steal from both pockets anymore
If anyone gets their hands on your gloves,it becomes obvious what they are since they can bring up the change appearance menu or put them on and try to grab someone

I can't decide if this would be a no-syndie item or a great syndie item.

This is the kinda thing I'd expect an assistant traitor to get, although the price should be at most 2 telecrystals because I can't think of very many situations where they would be actually useful, as compared to being griefy (and hilarious).

Wasn't this suggested before, by the way?

Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Chike101 - 01-03-2014

Another dumb idea.
I'm taking the Old Hunting Rifle from the game, adding an idea, and suggesting a price.

You know how the OHR has a scope, but you can't use it? Well, here's my idea. On other servers, like /tg/ or Bay or something, some objects give the benefit of zooming. I'm thinking we could use that with the OHR. Now, I'm thinking this could go an extra screen ahead of you, maybe two if you're pushing it. As long as you have an unblocked line of fire, you could hit the target. It would do regular OHR damage. Of course, you can still use the weapon at close range, but it's really not recommended.

Onto the downsides. Since the OHR is really powerful, it will probably have the ammo inside it + 1 extra clip of ammo separate only. Like looking down an actual scope, your situational awareness takes a big hit. You won't be able to see anything happening around you, but messages will still appear in the chatbox, like using cameras, meaning some guy could sneak up to you and disarm/murder you while you're scoping in a target. Nonetheless, I'd charge 8 telecrystals for it, same as a Spacker.

Summary:
Old Hunting Rifle - 8 Telecrystals
Powerful ranged weapon which can zoom in and shoot someone accurately (without obstruction between gun and target) from 1-2 screens away.
Pros - Powerful weapon, can incapacitate people at long range, good for assassinations.
Cons - Expensive, low ammo, good chance of someone sneaking up on you if you aren't hidden.

Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Captain_Bravo - 01-03-2014

Just make it act like a camera that is one full screen away from you, in whatever direction you're pointing. So you can snipe people like a badass without them even knowing that you're there, but like you said you would have no situational awareness and people could sneak up behind you and pump you full of Discount Dan's.

Use the chameleon projector on a bush with the scoped rifle and you now have a ghille suit.

the problem with this is that there are very few spots on the station where you'll get a clear shot

it could have the power to bust through a window/grille set (and be reduced to 1/2 damage) and have a chance of going through a wall (for 1/3rd damage)
