One of those soda hats.

A hat and a container (unless the different soda cans are spirited under it separately.)

use *drink to drink from it.

Like this

Also as a balance maybe being knocked down or falling should spill all the contents.

Is there a way for geneticists to give THEMSELVES mutations? It kinda sucks that they are one of the only roles that can't benefit from their own work.

Injectors or having the other geneticist do it for you.

Genetics research takes all round unless you have two people spending research points on stuff.

Maybe QM should be able to buy a upgrade for genetics that makes research take less then that.

I'm sure Qm's would be willing to do that in exchange for super power injectors to go with their sweet battle armor they manage to convince mining to help them with.

Also maybe injectors of specific powers/mutations could go for a undiscovered but high price.

It's basically weaponized injections.

No, it's hot stuff + cold stuff = magic energy, the actual joule cycle machine inside the engine, which would be way more fun to work out than simply flushing hellfire into pipes, is not available and that makes the engineer that I am in real life very sad

Understand that we're not working with a machine but solely with it's heat sources

That gets us to the point where only the temperature difference between the hot loop and the cold loop should matter and there are obviously other things involved (pressure in the loops ? It should not have any importance inside the engine itself)

Re: Good Idea/Bad Idea - Dabir - 08-03-2014

The gas flow's spinning turbines, surely the pressure would matter.

hello i am a real life engineer and let me tell you that this is not how the actual engine works

less rudely, the real problem is that if those fancy turbines are what generates power, then there's no need for separate loops or anything altogether, I think it's obvious that they are just meant to represent how hot/pressured is the gas flowing inside them

Here's the representation of what is probably intended to be the engine :

-A coolant fluid is compressed (the compressor is activated by the turbine)
-the fluid is superheated by the hot source (which is our hot loop)
-the fluid is then expanded inside the turbine, generating mechanical work which is converted to electrical energy by an alternator (basically where the wire is plugged)
-finally the fluid is cooled down by the cold source (which is our cold loop)

Obviously the engine is not an actual joule cycle but probably a model that should just require the temp. difference between the two loops in order to calculate how much mechanical (and thus electrical) power we're getting by cycle.

Now pressure inside the loops can actually be linked to the flow rate of the fluid they contain, which is then linked to how efficiently the hypothetical heat exchangers are transferring heat between the engine and the loops, but even then, it would mean that optimal functionning is reached by having the same flow rate in all three parts of the engine.

The game's thermodynamics are very weird and I wish I could have a sneak peek at how it is modelled so I could understand stuff better, or at least a deep explanation

TL;DR : those spinning fans should be entirely unrelated to what produces power inside the engine but it actually depends on how the engine is modelled deep inside

There we go, I remember being told that this is what the engine's supposed to be.

On some rounds, after all jobs are filled instead of spawining as an assistant you should spawn as a space wasp or something. Hey, you were just going to annoy the crew and wait for the round to end anyway.

Re: Good Idea/Bad Idea - atomic1fire - 08-04-2014

Only if the space wasp dies after stinging someone.

Also space mice players that come with some random diseases they can spread by biting might be neat. Non contagious after the person gets it.

I know there's mice that have spawned with the ability to infect people with berserkers.

I once watched a mouse and a monkey fight because the mouse gave the monkey berzerkers and the monkey kept hitting the mouse. I finally killed the mouse and gave the berzerker monkey to medbay.

We need space pirate clothes go with the paper hat and eyepatch. How else are we suppose to commandeer the station? Also need a Baguette for a weapon, It will need to be given its on sprite when put on your belt of course.

Individual space wasps aen't hard to kill, even with your bare hands. When you get swarmed you can usually beat 3 of them to death before you go into crit.

Fart in a jar: a slighly weaker, homemade flashbang that even an assistant can make!

Re: Good Idea/Bad Idea - Isaacs Alter Ego - 08-04-2014

If you're lying down with an unlit cigarette equipped and a laser flies over you, it should give a special message and light the cigarette.

The laser grazes Cool Fonzie's cigarette and lights it! Holy shit that's cool!
