hi bumping because we're still getting a ton of fake accounts created daily
https://forum.ss13.co/member.php?action=profile&uid=4686 is one. any way to stop this? is it benign or could it pose a threat to the forums in the future?
edit: 209 users active in the past 15 minutes (12 members, 1 of whom is invisible, and 194 guests).

maybe having to authenticate via email or something would slow them down, or just throwing a captcha somewhere during creation

We actually already have email validation and a captcha on registration. Additionally, the influx of spam accounts isn't necessarily related to the original post on this thread (very different issue).
