Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Beardbeard - 07-21-2013 Hey, I know the amplified vuvuzela is meant to be pretty powerful considering the job its associated with, but the stun time on it is a bit ridiculous. I had a guy trying to shake me up for a solid minute(after already being down for 20 seconds) before I got the recovery message. And even then I was stammering for a good 5 minutes afterwards. That's kind of excessive considering that you could easily kill someone in a fraction of that time. Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Marquesas - 07-21-2013 It's terribly obvious and you're on the bottom of the food chain. It's fine. Deal with it. I'm not saying it shouldn't still be strong, I'm just saying it shouldn't last that long because you'll die before a quarter of its duration is over, or if you don't, you'll be laying on the ground for 10 minutes unless someone spends a minute shaking you up. It's just a bit unfun to deal with if the guy suddenly has to run off before killing you. No one wants to spend 10 minutes laying in a maint shaft. Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Weavel - 07-21-2013 if an item makes you spend 1/6 of an average round doing nothing it is not fun Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Daeren - 07-21-2013 Weavel Wrote:if an item makes you spend 1/6 of an average round doing nothing it is not fun Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - TheRedScare - 07-21-2013 Getting sleepy penned then having the guy run off is a massive pain in the ass too. I spent a good 15 minutes knocked out in QM at one point. Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Weavel - 07-21-2013 I think the vuvuzela could use some sort of alternative boost bar super-long stun. Maybe it makes them deaf? Maybe 5 shots instead of 4? Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Dauntasa - 07-21-2013 let it fire a power shot that uses all the energy in the gun, sends whoever it hits flying backwards, shatters all nearby windows and lights and permanently deafens everyone in earshot including the one who fired it. also pointblanking it gibs the target but blows both of the shooter's arms off. It's an assistant item, it should be ridiculously dangerous to everyone including the person using it. Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Dauntasa - 07-21-2013 also it should play the BZZZZZZZZZZ noise for the entire station and permanently for whoever was hit by it. Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - atomic1fire - 07-21-2013 A radio jammer disguised as a green radio. To go with the things disguised as other things Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - atomic1fire - 07-21-2013 Double Post: I'm fairly certain a radio jammer of some kind already existed, but I suggested the green radio thing because I think the emergancy radio could use a doppleganger. Most people ignore the green radios in the same way they ignore pens, and gask masks. (but they both have traitor dopplegangers) Giving them a traitor counterpoint of some kind, even if it was replacing that syndicate radio sprite with a green radio sprite recolored red or something would be fun. Also it might be cool to have a scientist gas tank that offers a small amount of air (like an emergancy gas tank) but the rest of the tank could be used for storage. It would look like a regular large tank but could double with the voice changer as an effective scientist disguise. Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Dauntasa - 07-21-2013 Item: Emergency Supplies Cost: A lot more than they're worth Basically, traitors who were caught in unfortunate situations could spend their crystals on things they could, under normal circumstances, acquire on the station, but didn't and are now fucked without. For example, Bob Mctraitor has just been hit by a bomb. He's lost an arm and is in crit and barely conscious. With no assistance, he bleeds to death and the round is over for him. But, he had his PDA with him and crystals in it. The syndicate can beam him guns and gadgets. Why can't he get an emergency medical kit containing medicine and something to cauterize his stump with? It should cost a lot to discourage people from using it to be lazy and to force people to make a trade off between saving themselves and buying cool traitor shit. I think that traitor PDAs should, in addition to their current weapons and gear, offer a selection of useful but overpriced mundane items. Like medical supplies, toolkits, internals; that sort of thing. If the AI bolts you into a room and you've got ten crystals in your PDA you shouldn't have to resort to buying a bomb and setting it off on the other side of the room in the hopes that it will take down the wall without shredding you. You should be able to get an overpriced door-hacking kit and bust yourself out in exchange for 4-5 crystals. As it stands you can get a gun for as little as 2 crystals but if you're stuck in an airless room then you can buy guns, bombs, cloaking devices and all kinds of cool shit but none of that can help you nearly as much as an air tank and a breath mask. |
