Crazy Idea regarding nukeop rounds

What if we made it so the nuke had significantly more health and a significantly longer timer, and enabled respawning for the operatives?

with more health and longer timer, the crew would be much less shy about unscrewing it and dumping it into the crusher to instakill it. this would leave a defeated nuke team a minute or two at best to respawn and try to rush to disposals to intercept, which might be difficult unless they respawn fully suited up and with replacement pods to hop into to get them to the station

I forgot about the ability to crush the nuke. Or the ability to space it for that matter. Than again I was more just throwing an idea at the wall to see if it would stick.

lets get some mileage out of the thread rather than just dogpiling

heres my crazy of idea of nuke op round:

a decoy nuke bomb that the nuketeam can use telecrystals to buy. only 1 buyable no matter the price. once set, the usual warning alarm goes off. the decoy can be rigged with a grenade or pipe bomb of your choosing which will blow when interacted with or struck by a non-nukeop, which will also ruin the decoy thus revealing it as a fake.

of course, if you just leave it unattended, people will probably guess it is a fake. it can be set off from a safe distance using a gunshot, taser shot, laser, thrown object, whatever. and you will also have tipped your hand that the round is nuke.

i envision this best used simultaneously with the real nuke, even if the ai is watching and notices telltale signs like more nukeop guards around one rather than the other, people will still invariably be driven to investigate the site of the fake, just in case, thus consuming their time and resources

suggestion from mistos idea: a fake nuke for traitors, instead of nuke ops. set it somewhere for a massive distraction. possibly comes with fake syndicate gear (space suit) that doesn't actually work cause those are pretty good (no movement slow) and maybe a fake revolver or something idk. works best with a traitor mindslaving a traitor

"alright you go plant the 'nuke' while i steal the ai/rob the armory or anything"

Nah, just make red space suits buyable separately. It's worth 3-4 telecrystals.

I think it'd be neat if the nuke ops had a chance to instead spawn with a nuke launcher and the crew had to siege their fortified base.

(this includes the longer timer)
