If this were added medical scanners should show pinpricks from the changelings stinger, also syringes and hypo spray maybe so that people don't randomly scream about changelings when there are...other threats.

As for the vampire idea I think gaze should be accessible from the beginning but in a weakened state that could be broken out of by resisting. Maybe code it so it's like handcuffs that mute you.
