They negate chemical infused ores and such. So you can use and abuse the smelter without worrying about getting affected by the additive when the item is picked up. Found in chemistry I guess.

You can throw a mechanic component,(Iv tested Egun and button) Into normal non reinforced walls. Then walk through that wall freely.
